Midwest Buzz
Branding, Print
Case Study
As part of my junior year of VCD studies at Herron (fall 2017), fellow classmates (Lian Ottinger and Lila Whitlock) and I were tasked as a group to develop an identity with a corresponding typographic system for Midwest Buzz, a (hypothetical) magazine about all of the different facets of social drinking in the Midwest of the United States. Utilizing this system, the three of us each produced a different issue (with mine being the Fall 2017 issue), creating a set of three different yet cohesive magazine issues.
Audience
Middle-high class, 25–35 year old, social drinkers and alcohol connoisseurs who are looking to broaden their knowledge and experience the drinking scene of the Midwest.
Project role
As a member of this group, I was tasked with developing much of the branding, including the development of the wordmark and typographic system for the magazine.
